Turtle Bay to Donate 34 Family Memberships to Victims of Wildfires
As participants of North State Giving Tuesday, Turtle Bay Exploration Park took part in an online regional fundraising effort to benefit and raise awareness for over 170 organizations. The 14-hour giving event raised a total of $870,075 and allowed our community to contribute to many causes.
The fundraiser was a success for Turtle Bay. We saw 70 unique donations throughout the day—several from first time donors!— and were the #1 earner for Shasta County organizations, ranking third overall. Turtle Bay was also awarded a special donors prize by Shasta Regional Community Foundation for the most unique donor engagement during the 11am-Noon hour, which earned an additional cash prize of $500.
Many of our donors participated in the “You Give, We Give” donation promotion, where for every $100+ donor, Turtle Bay pledged to donate a free 1-year Family-level membership to a family impacted by the recent wildfires. As a result of the generosity of our community, Turtle Bay will be donating 34 family memberships this year!
Donations from North State Giving Tuesday help Turtle Bay continue to be a place for our community to thrive, offering unique exhibitions, animal interactions, education programs, nature-based enrichment, and more.
